The start of a good day. They removed the hutch and were just starting to take the lathe and plaster off the walls.
And doing the same on the other wall.
Beautiful, cold day. At least it wasn't snowing! One guy did throw salt on the roof so that the snow would melt faster so they could get up there to dismantle the chimney!
Dust started to fly!
Yes! The snow melted and they were able to get on the roof and take it down from the top while they were taking it apart on the inside, upstairs and down.
Remember the little slot in the medicine cabinet that said, "Place used razors here"? Well, this is the pile of used razors we found when we removed the medicine cabinet! Just a couple of weeks ago, Christopher found a razor. I asked him to put it in the garbage and he said, "No! I know where this goes!" That one is in this pile!
This is where the kitchen sink was. The floor was oak, which was a blessing. They said this area had water damage many times (not recently) and if it had been a pine floor, it would have soaked through the whole floor!
People hauling bricks from the chimney out of the house. You can see the door to the laundry room, the window that was above my kitchen sink, and the door to my bedroom.
Yay! They pulled the tub unit out! I really didn't like that thing!
This is a pile of bricks where the wood stove used to sit. *sigh*
So, the project has officially begun! Exciting! We had a lot of men and women from the ward come help, in addition to four guys Nick worked with at the University: Rob, Cody, George, and Tom. Sending blessings their way!

That looks like a lot of work. I wish we could be up there to help you. But it looks like you have a lot of good help. Thanks for keeping up updated. I can't wait to see it all finished. WE love you guys!
