Since there are lath and plaster walls, I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do with them. We considered putting thin sheetrock over the plaster, but it didn't feel quite right. Then Brother Nielsen, who plays the piano in primary, mentioned that he has been working on a house in Logan that has lath and plaster walls and all he has learned about them. He offered to come look at the room, then volunteered to fix the big holes in the walls (where a previous bed-ridden owner would pull herself through to the next room). He also removed the acoustic tiles on the ceiling and rewired the electrical so that there is a light switch right by the door! With Dad's help, they made it work! That has been a bit annoying ever since we moved in...more than 12 years ago!
Brother Nielsen had to go out of town for a few weeks, so we are at a stand still for now, but it is exciting to have some progress!
